尚文社区在信宜市东镇街道西部，以革命烈士梁尚文命名，辖区内有尚文水库[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

据社区材料，村名为纪念梁尚文烈士而起；梁尚文原籍六贺大队丈二田村，1943年在化州牺牲，遗体后停放在六贺大队部，1958年修建尚文水库时迁出安葬[1]。百度百科对他的籍贯和牺牲时间另有说法：生于1916年，信宜县东镇镇里村（今尚文村）人，1945年4月牺牲[3]。此地自1958年起设尚文大队，其后至1983年称尚文乡，再到1987年设村委会，又于1989年称管理区，至1999年重称村委会[1]。

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，社区分23个村民小组，登记1470户，人口5320人，总面积约9平方千米，耕地1428亩；种稻谷、荔枝、龙眼，养猪并加工米粉，其上一年农村经济总收入为5802万元[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

尚文水库距市区4公里，因坝址在尚文村而得名，1958年秋动工，1963年5月竣工，最大库容4170万立方米[2]。

荣誉[edit]

尚文社区于2023年5月被广东省爱卫会评为「2022年广东省卫生村」[1]。
