新里社区在信宜市区西北郊，属主城区；居委会设在新里垌，故名新里[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

此地自1958年起设新里大队，其后至1983年称新里乡，再到1987年设村委会，又于1989年改称管理区，至1999年重设村委会，2005年3月21日实行村改居，成立新里社区居民委员会[1]。

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，社区分23个村民小组，登记1930户，人口7668人，总面积约10平方千米，耕地550亩，主要种蔬菜、水果；其上一年农村经济总收入为6490万元[1]。

荣誉[edit]

新里社区于2023年5月被广东省爱卫会评为「2022年广东省卫生村」；2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单[1]。
