东镇街道在广东省茂名市信宜市中南部，是信宜市委、市政府的驻地[1]。据百度百科，街道东邻白石镇，南接水口镇、丁堡镇，西与北界镇、金垌镇相连，北靠池洞镇、怀乡镇，面积125.38平方千米；2021年6月的统计是常住33.2万人、户籍28.6万人[1]。它前身是1952年冬设立的东镇镇，2005年改为街道，现辖17个社区、6个行政村[1]。

东镇镇由原竹山公社、东镇公社和信城镇合并而成[2]。东镇镇始设于1952年的冬天[1]。到2005年，省民政厅批准它改为街道（同年1月），成为信宜市政府的派出机关[2]。改设时下辖8个社区居委会和30个村委会，户籍人口222103人，面积为209平方千米[2]。街道办事处设在解放二社区东龙路18号[1]。

街道位于信宜市中南部，周边为白石、水口、丁堡、北界、金垌、池洞、怀乡等镇[1]。博雅地名网列出的数据与百度百科不同：面积约149平方千米，人口约22.73万人[3]，这些数字所属年份未注明，本条目以百度百科2021年的数字为主。

据博雅地名网转载的街道概况，当地支柱产业包括毛纺织、竹编、皮具、制衣、玉雕工艺、电子元件，以及商贸、饮食、旅游、运输和建筑建材等；江东电子城生产的限温器，在全国市场占九成以上份额[2]。该文写到，2009年底街道有工业企业6041家，其工业总产值为29亿元，增加值9.26亿元[2]。农业方面，同一文本提到山地鸡养殖、优质水果和良种猪养殖等基地[2]。

百度百科列出的2020年数字是：第三产业191.30亿元、工业22.67亿元、农业13.03亿元（均为增加值）[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

大仁山又名云岫山，位于北逻社区，离市区约3至5公里，山体高728米，景区占地10平方千米；山顶建有仲大仁庙，2022年5月信宜市政府把它列为粤西道教文化的代表景点[4]。

太华山位于庄垌村，高678米，位于东镇与池洞镇的分界一带，离市区约10公里；山上有天池、仙湖和太尉庙、观音寺[5]。1991年，茂名市旅游局批准在此设信宜市第一个旅游区，并划为历史文物保护区[5]。

梅岗公园在市区东郊的梅柳岗，临锦江，旧时信宜八景中的“梅江远眺”就在这里；1990年代末辟为公园，第一期用地500多亩[6]。

尚文水库在尚文社区境内，距市区4公里，1958年秋动工，1963年5月竣工，库容最大可达4170万立方米[7]。
