文楼镇在化州市的西北角，西面和北面与广西陆川县、北流市交界，东邻播扬镇，南接平定镇。[4]下设1个社区和16个行政村，总面积159.05平方千米；据2019年末的户籍统计，人口84768人。[4]1987年3月由区改镇。[3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1932年，这一带分设甲隆、文楼坡、白梅等乡，属化县第六区；自1937年到1953年8月，改设梅隆、文山等乡，所属的区先后换过四次。[3]1953年8月起划为化县第十三区，1957年区撤销，改设文楼乡。[3]

人民公社化时期，这里的公社1958年9月成立，管10个乡；到1961年改为区，只辖4乡，1963年又变回公社。[3]此后1983年10月公社改区，16个生产大队随之成为16个乡，1987年3月再设镇。[3][4]

名称由来[edit]

博雅地名网记载，明代有董姓叔侄3户从化州城郊董家祠附近的门楼坡村（在今化州丝厂一带）迁到今文楼圩的位置开荒建村，沿用旧地名称门楼坡。1943年（民国三十二年）扩建成圩，起初叫门楼新圩，后来因「文」与「门」读音相近，改称文楼圩，镇名由此而来。[1]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网转述的镇情介绍，该介绍称镇内有白石、高岭土、钾长石等多种矿产，白石储量在300亿吨以上；乡镇企业共1997家，13900人在其中就业，另有1000亩的工业园区，文楼和甲隆各建了一个开发新区，自来水厂2003年底建成供水。[2]这一介绍的统计年份未注明。

农业上，水果有龙眼、荔枝、黄榄、芒果，药材有淮山、半夏、橘红和银花；那训建有万亩水果基地，大柘建有千亩淮山基地。[2]各村的主要作物也多为淮山、香蕉、蚕桑和丰产林。2019年，全镇一般公共预算收入4080.3万元。[4]

荣誉[edit]

文楼镇在2019年11月被认定为广东省森林小镇，2026年3月又入选广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

白梅墟南边的书房嘴村有一处白梅书房城，博雅地名网称其明代起建，用砖和木料造成，是带城池、书房、炮楼与住房的寨堡，占地约4万平方米；城墙高9米，每边长200米，炮楼共9座，其中3座高18米，6座高12米。[1]

镬耳屋村属文楼村委会，村里的文楼镬耳屋建于清代，属化州市公布的第四批县级文物保护单位。[1]

文化[edit]

甲隆圩每年正月十八日以及闰年农历十一月十一日举行庙会，博雅地名网把文楼甲隆庙会列为本镇的民俗。[1]
