棠南村位于高州市荷塘镇境内，属镇辖村民委员会。村子过去在一口大水塘的南面，原名塘南，后改写为棠南。博雅地名网作「堂南村」，与区划数据的写法不同。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

八十年代初，1983年设棠南乡，三年后的1986年更名为棠南农村管理区，到1999年更名为棠南村民委员会，此后名称未再变动。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年9月，名列2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
