方旦村是高州市古丁镇下辖的行政村。博雅地名网记有村名的由来：过去这里的村民每隔五年祭天求神一次，称为打“天照”，此地就是祭坛所在，坛呈方形，当地把“坛”说成“旦”，因而叫方旦。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

方旦在1958年公社化时归马丽大队管；1962年体制下放，它离开马丽，与石屋大队合并，设方旦大队。其后依次变为乡（1983年）、农村管理区（1986年）和村民委员会（1999年以后），名称始终是方旦。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，方旦村列入2018年度省级「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位之列。2021年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
