镇盛镇在广东省茂名市茂南区西部，位于梅江河中下游，东邻袂花镇，南接鳌头镇，西与吴川市浅水镇相连，北靠高山镇和公馆镇，辖区面积59.59平方千米。[1]镇政府设在镇盛圩府前路，下辖1个社区和18个行政村。[1]镇域以反季节龙眼生产见长，2019年末户籍人口为69689人。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
建制上先后经历四步：1957年2月为镇盛乡，1959年8月改称镇盛公社，其后在1983年11月转为镇盛区，1987年5月区制撤销、改建镇盛镇。[2]关于镇名，博雅地名网的说法是：此地夏秋多涝，旧时村庄常遭水浸，镇名由「浸剩」一词转化而来。[2]
下辖各村的建制变迁大体相同：1958年前后称大队，1983年改乡人民政府，1987年称村委会，1989年前后称管理区，1999年前后复称村（民）委员会。[2]镇盛居委会则在1987年5月根据茂南区人民政府的批复设立。[3]
地理环境[edit]
百度百科把镇盛镇放在茂南区西部，博雅地名网则说它在茂南区南部，与湛江市接壤。[1][2]气候为热带季风气候。[1]
经济[edit]
据博雅地名网，镇盛镇年积温较高，水果发育和成熟都早，冬季低温霜冻危害少，适合反季节龙眼生产；全镇种植龙眼近2万亩，多数用于反季节生产，按销售时间分时段促花，因此全年各季都有果实上市，被称作四季龙眼生产基地。[2]元亨村和那田村先后进入广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产品均为龙眼。[4][5]
2019年镇内工业企业共105个，规模以上的有7个。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
云门祠（又称邓龙光故居）在白沙村的茅郎村，背靠小东江，面向彭村湖，是国民革命军将领邓龙光兄弟为奉祀祖父邓达逵（字云门）而建。祠堂1934年秋动工，1936年2月竣工，耗银13万元，总占地5600余平方米，主体建筑面积2200平方米，布局是三门一体的四合院，中西建筑风格兼用，建材中的水泥、钢筋由英国进口。[6]1986年8月21日被茂南区人民政府批准为区文物保护单位，2019年列入广东省第九批省级文物保护单位；新中国成立后曾充公作粮仓，60年代后期又用作白沙小学校舍，90年代学校迁出后渐趋残破，2016年起修缮，截至2025年仍未开放。[6]另有百度百科词条称邓龙光故居是清光绪初年的红砖黄瓦木结构两进房屋，主房宽20米、深35米，在白沙村。[7]
青年湖旅游区在镇内，离茂名市区16公里，面积合计6.55平方千米，含水面1.25平方千米，以人工湖泊、山丘和森林为主要资源；1997年起按森林公园规划，规划范围11.3平方千米，预计投资1.52亿元。[8]

镇盛镇在2020年2月获得广东省卫生镇的荣誉，对应年度为2019年。[2]
著名人物[edit]
邓龙光，字剑泉，生于1896年，卒于1979年，白沙村人，保定陆军军官学校第六期毕业，国民革命军中将，抗日战争中曾率部参与南京保卫战，之后在1940年出任第三十五集团军总司令，1949年赴台。[9]（百度百科的故居词条记其生于1893年，与此处不一致。[7]）
