伴侣村的前身是1956年设立的伴侣乡，1958年改为大队，1983年重新设乡，1987年2月改设村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年定为村民委员会。[1]

广东省爱卫会在2023年5月授予伴侣村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
