历史沿革[edit]
莫宅在民国时期到1948年归遂溪县的吾良乡，次年改归该县南塘乡；1954年成为海康县的乌坑大队，1958年为海康县纪家公社下的莫宅大队，1987年2月改莫宅村委会，1989年称莫宅管理区，1999年定名莫宅村民委员会。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
据百度百科，全村总人口3037人，耕地3580亩，主要作物是甘蔗和果桑，是省定脱贫村，2016年起有单位对口帮扶，后来获得湛江市文明村等称号。[2]2019年9月，莫宅村还列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
