1958年成立林西大队，1984年设林西乡，1987年2月设林西村委会，1989年称林西管理区，1999年定名林西村民委员会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

据百度百科，2015年全村1558人、288户，地形以平原为主，耕地约2000亩，种植甘蔗、香蕉、西瓜等。[2]
