苏茅角村属湛江市廉江市，在石岭镇境内，是该镇辖下的行政村，村委会设在石岭圩，下辖20条自然村；2005年全村1188户、4612人。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

当地许多角落长满苏茅草，因而得名。[1][2]

1950年至1957年，苏茅角、盘龙塘、中山等村合组一乡，乡址在苏茅角村；1958年三村分设大队；1966年迁到垭仔后背岭，建有平房办公；1983年设苏茅角乡，1987年改称管理区，1999年改设村民委员会。村委会1995年由垭仔村迁到石岭圩。[1][2]

2019年9月，苏茅角村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

据2005年的统计，全村1188户、4612人，汉族约占99.5%，另有壮族、苗族等；姓氏方面，黎姓约占60%，许姓约占20%，另有郑、周、余、李等姓；村民通行黎话（约占70%）、哎话和白话。[1][2]

经济[edit]

耕地共3041亩（2005年），种的作物有水稻、番薯、花生、蔬菜和水果；该年粮食产量1844.8吨，渔业产量162吨，经济总收入为1093万元。[1][2]

村里的土特产有蒜头、果蔗。[1][2]
