地名与沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，1838年福建蒲田县猪屎巷关利港的人迁到这里，这是个四面环水、周围长满草的地方，移民便以草港为村名[1]。草港渔业大队设于1954年，成员来自横山镇的西山村、久受埇村和急水村，归北堤公社管辖；1983年起设乡，1986年称管理区，1989年定名草港村委会[1]。
