历史沿革[edit]
关于村名，地名资料的说法是：村后靠龙头山寨，又竹子繁茂，村民以竹寨为名。[2]沿革方面：1950至1957年，此后板桥、三甲、野鸭塘等村合编为一乡，此后1958年分设机构成立大队，此后1983年设竹寨乡，此后1986年称竹寨管理区，此后1999年改为竹寨村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
村中种养的有水稻、蔬菜和速生桉，荔枝产量较多；有石料加工、运输等副业。[1]该页载耕地784亩、山地4449亩。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年1月列在湛江市2020年度文明村名单中；另有2019年9月进入2018年度广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位之列。[1]
