历史沿革[edit]

关于村名，地名资料的说法是：村民早年在此处山头开设油坊榨油，村名由此而来。[2]沿革方面：1951年为油房行政村，此后1958年为油房大队，此后1983年冬为油房乡，此后1986年为油房管区，此后1999年改为油房村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村中种养的有水稻、蔬菜、水果和林木，出产荔枝、龙眼、西瓜、甜玉米、速生桉；有酿酒、运输等副业。[1]该页载耕地892亩、山地2825亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年1月列在湛江市2020年度文明村名单中；另有2019年9月进入2018年度广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位之列。[1]
