角湖垌村属廉江市城北街道，是街道辖下的一个行政村，分类上为城乡结合区。该村四面被田垌环绕，村中央有一口大鱼塘，村形近三角，村民遂以角湖垌为村名；村委会即驻该村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

前身是1958年的牛路头大队，隶大塘乡。1960年一分为三，即角湖垌、牛路头、黄墩3个大队，1963年又并为角湖垌一个大队。此后几经更名：1983年成乡，1987年成管理区并归石城镇，1999年定名为村民委员会。2004年5月起由城北街道管辖。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；湛江市2020年度全市文明村（2021年1月公布）。[1]
