北潭1958年为大队；1962年与长乐组成北潭乡，1986年北潭自乡中分出设村委会，1988年为管理区，1998年起为村民委员会。[1]

  • 2023年5月，辖下的刺仔山村获广东省爱卫会评为2022年广东省卫生村。[1]
