海星村列入广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单（2019年9月），入选「湛江市2020年度全市文明村」（2021年1月）。2023年5月，村内上湖村、北墩楼村、南尾宫村、符宅村、车路门村等5个村被广东省爱卫会评为「2022年广东省卫生村」[1]。
