西连社区在湛江市徐闻县西连镇的镇中心区，是该镇的社区居民委员会所在，镇政府驻地西连圩即在这一带。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

西连墟的前身叫掩井墟，时间在1949年，之后改称西连墟。1958年起它成为西连大队，1983年称民治西连居委会，三年后叫西连居委会；1989年又成了管理区，到2000年才定名西连社区居民委员会，一直用到现在。[1]

荣誉[edit]

西连社区在2019年9月列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
