华建社区在徐闻县城中心，归徐城街道管辖；辖区是原广东省国营华建糖厂的厂区，社区由此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

华侨张治安、杜启冲等人于1947年在这里办起机械化的华南糖厂。解放后，军管会一度接管，随后归还业主；到1955年公私合营时，厂名改作华建，性质也由私营变为省属国营。糖厂在1999年改制，厂区与职工住区划为社区，2000年起称华建社区居民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，华建社区列入「民主法治示范村（社区）」2018年度广东省创建单位名单。[1]
