历史沿革[edit]
西基原属遂溪县第二区的豆坡乡，1959年随豆坡改称大队，1961年单独建西基大队，后于1983年更名西基管理区，1986年更名为西基村委会，1989年再称管理区，1999年起定为西基村民委员会。[1]
文化[edit]
湛江市2020年度评选中，该村于2021年1月同时入选文明村和先进文明村。[1]
2019年9月，该村被列为广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位（2018年度）。[1]
