新杨村位于遂溪县洋青镇，是镇辖行政村。村名的由来是：新龙村和杨树塘村两个自然村合成一个村委会，各取一字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

该村的前身是蒲岭乡（1950年），组初级社（1951年），办高级社（1955年），设古村大队（1958年），设古村管理区（1983年），起设古村村委会（1986年），改称古村村民委员会（1999年）；2015年中旬，古村村民委员会按上级的机构重组精神拆分，分出新杨村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年1月，村名列「湛江市2020年度全市文明村」。[1]
