外坡村位于遂溪县洋青镇，是镇辖行政村。村名的由来是：办公驻地一带有九块坡地，称九坡塘，而此处在它们的外围，另有一片坡地，因此叫外坡。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1959年以前，该地先后属陈屋乡、寮客乡；自寮客大队析出设牛栏大队（1960年），并入竹山大队（1963年），自竹山大队分出设文外大队（1978年），称文外乡（1983年），设文外村委会（1986年），改为文外村民委员会（1999年）；2015年中旬，外坡村民委员会从文外村民委员会分设。[1]
