麻东村是湛江市坡头区南调街道下辖的行政村。当地人旧时把坡头圩以西一带泛称为麻水，此村在麻水之东，故名麻东。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
农协会是1949年建的，当时归吴川县第八区；1954年，农协会升为乡。公社化时，乡先改麻东营，归坡头人民公社；营撤销后的1959年，辖地分成麻东和珊瑚两个大队。[2]麻东公社在1961年成立，麻东大队是其下属，直到1977年公社并入坡头公社，两个大队也合为一个麻东大队。[2]1980年代起称乡，并随南调街道的设立（1985年）归街道；之后的名称为麻东村委会（1987年）、麻东管理区（1990年），1999年定名麻东村民委员会。[2]
荣誉[edit]
麻东村在2022年9月被认定为「2022年湛江市文明村」。[1]
