文保村在湛江市赤坎区，归南桥街道管辖，区划代码440802007202，位于区南部，东邻开发区，人民大道和椹川大道经过村域。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

关于村名，博雅地名网说：这里原是竹林，村民削竹做毛笔，毛笔是“文房四宝”之一，“宝”与“保”同音，故称文保。[2]百度百科则写作“文宝村”，称其形成于清乾隆年间，房屋沿文保河北岸排开，居民分属何姓和黄姓两族；1984年划入赤坎区，1999年设立村民委员会。[1]博雅地名网另有一套沿革：1984年立文保乡，1986年改称村委会，1989年称管理区，2000年定名文保村委会。[2]

现状[edit]

村域约1212亩，2000年户籍人口3408人，说雷州话。村民多经营商业、出租物业；这里被作为湛江城中村改造的示范点，保留下的生态公园有1000亩，南国热带花园和文保生态公园是村里列出的景点。[1]
