海萍村在湛江市赤坎区，归南桥街道管辖，区划代码440802007200，坐落于街道东北部、南桥河边的市中心地带。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
先民在滩涂上围填成坪，建起村子，村名因此而来；后来“坪”字改写成同音的“萍”。[1]1959年8月，百姓村分出东园、海萍、陈屋港一带，另立卫东蔬菜大队。[2]
地理与现状[edit]
南桥河由南向北流过村旁，与北桥河汇合后经赤坎江入海。村里2015年底有户籍人口640人，世居者为汉族，话有吴川、雷州、湛江三种。[1]2022年起纳入城中村改造范围；2026年3月，列入广东「百千万工程」第三批典型村镇。[1][3]
