南桥街道是广东省湛江市赤坎区下辖的街道，区划代码440802007，1987年春成立。街道得名于流经辖区的南桥河；下辖康宁、康顺、百园、梧阔、霞海、龙潮、京基、椹川北8个社区和海萍、百姓、文保、草苏、东园、陈屋港、农场7个行政村。[1]2020年的第七次全国人口普查数出街道人口约9.14万人，在赤坎区各街道中居首位；辖区约13平方千米，面积居第二。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南桥街道于1987年春设立。[1]街道所辖的社区和村，大多由1980年前后的生产大队沿革而来：康宁、康顺、百园等社区在1980年设大队，1983年改称乡，1986年改设居委会，1989年称管理区，2002年起又称居委会或社区居委会；草苏在1980年设大队，2000年起称村委会；百姓则在1953年已立乡。[2]京基社区较晚，2009年经湛江市民政局批准，以开发商兴建的西粤京基城为名设立。[2]

海萍、东园两村与陈屋港一带，原都属百姓乡；据百度百科，1959年8月，海萍、东园和陈屋港一带脱离百姓村，另立卫东蔬菜大队；陈屋港到2017年才有自己的村民委员会。[3]

地理环境[edit]

街道名称取自南桥河。南桥河古称南溪河，是湛江市区最大的天然河流和泄洪河道，全长14.5公里，上游在麻章区古河村，中途经过调塾和东园村，在沙湾一带的海域入海。1958年，支流交汇处筑起赤坎水库，河道随之拓宽到32米，原先的西赤桥改建后更名南桥，河名也由此而来。[4]2014年起，当地对河道清淤、铺设截污管网并实行雨污分流，据2021至2022年的监测，全段水体已无黑臭。[4]

南桥公园建在赤坎水库上游的南桥河边，面积约6.07万平方米，2002年12月开工；它与北桥公园和南桥河整治三期工程连成一带河岸景观，2004年获评广东省优秀样板工程。[5]

村与社区[edit]

百姓村地处赤坎城区中心，属典型的城中村，辖地5.8平方千米；村民姓氏多达一百多种，故以“百姓”为名。[2][6]文保村据说形成于清乾隆年间，村民有何、黄两姓，沿文保河北岸而居，村里留有约1000亩的生态公园。[7]海萍村临南桥河，以在滩涂上填海建村得名，村名原用“坪”字，后因“坪”“萍”同音改作今写法。[8]

“百县千镇万村高质量发展工程”的典型名单上，2023年有百姓村；2026年1月有草苏、东园两村，同年3月有海萍、陈屋港、农场三村。[2][6]
