据百度百科，村名与辖内多数自然村以“龙”字命名有关，明代洪武年间已有先民到此立村。[2]

2016年公布的人口为2232人，下辖自然村20条；百度百科记有698户。[1][2]

村集体的主要收入来自市场、铺位和农林业；特色农业有水果、鱼塘和林业。[1]
