沙堤村是广东省台山市川岛镇下辖的行政村，坐落在上川岛南端的沙堤渔港，距川岛镇上川办事处约20千米。港湾三面是山，西边隔海对着下川岛，西南方向是南海。[1] 沙堤渔港属于「国家一类群众生活渔港」，村民农渔兼营，渔业以捕捞和网箱养殖为主。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据川山群岛旅游网的介绍，大约六百年前沙堤一带已有渔民在此作业，历史上这里是粤中渔船停靠和补给的地方。[3] 清嘉庆年间，张保仔率领的红旗帮海盗把上川岛的沙堤港作为主要据点，在琼州海峡到珠江口一带活动。[4]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积23.11平方千米，下辖5条自然村。港内水深浪小，渔港码头、冠冲码头和打铁湾、散石湾、公湾等处如今都辟作观光点。[1][3] 港外是沙堤口渔场，四季都有外地渔船前来作业；到南沙、西沙和北部湾的渔场路程也较近。[3]

渔业包括深海和浅海捕捞以及海水养殖，农业种水稻、番薯、花生和蔬菜，家畜家禽以猪和鸡为主。[1]

镇政府把沙堤渔港描述为可供港澳台地区和东南亚沿海国家的渔船、商船避风补给，兼有旅游和贸易功能的综合港口。[1] 旅游网称，渔港最繁忙时，每天进港的粤、港、澳、台船只有一千至三千艘次，出产的二十多种名贵水产销往国内外。[3] 据江门日报2023年的报道，港内的网箱养殖发展较快，养殖芝麻斑、石斑、珍珠斑、章红和龙虾等，当地人把网箱称作「水上银行」；镇里正在改造渔港，计划把捕捞、养殖、海上运输和水产冷冻加工连成一体。[2]

据南方日报2022年的报道，川岛镇此前投入200万元，在渔港建成沙堤渔民党群服务中心，为渔民提供一站式办事服务。[5] 渔港傍晚的景色被称为「渔港晚霞」；岸边至今有水上集市，渔民在这里出售鲜鱼和鱼干，也有妇女售卖水果和糖水。[3][6]
