莲湖村是广东省台山市端芬镇的行政村，在镇的西南部山区，离端芬圩约6千米，周边是隆文、三洞、西廓等村，村委会设在原莲湖小学。村名由所辖莲花坑、合湖两村各取一字组成。[1][2][3]

端芬镇人民政府2026年的介绍称，全村面积约10平方千米，有11条自然村、11个村民小组，户籍287户、1251人；林地约18223亩，远多于耕地，村里以种植业为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地清朝时隶属矬峒都，民国年间归第八区东仁乡。二十世纪五十年代，这一带属于第十八区那泰乡，后为那泰大队的一部分；1961年从那泰大队分出，单独成立莲湖大队。[3]

此后改为莲湖乡（1983年8月），再改为村委会（1987年1月）、管理区（1988年9月），1998年11月恢复村民委员会。2004年7月，原田坑村委会并入。[3][2] 2019年9月，莲湖村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2021年12月又获评当年的广东省卫生村。[2]

地理环境[edit]

莲湖村地处山区，田地多是山间的坑田，土质偏沙。[3] 关于它的位置，镇政府说在镇的西南约10千米、离圩镇约6千米，地名资料则说离端芬圩10千米。[1][3] 附近有风车山和有「千岛湖」之称的大隆洞水库，村里打算借助这些景点发展乡村旅游。[1]

经济[edit]

镇政府统计的耕地约1600亩，其中划为基本农田的有1378.54亩左右。村集体靠出租林地、耕地取得收入，村民收入主要来自经济作物。[1] 近年村里引进高产的优质水稻品种，经济作物也扩种到1000多亩，有青皮冬瓜、尖椒、新会柑和柠檬等；也依托农户的茶园种植红茶，希望做成本地品牌。[1]

地名资料记录的是更早的情况：全村273户、1104人，耕地1405亩，分为水田1166亩、岗地239亩；田里种稻谷、花生、黄豆、甘蔗和番薯、芋头、木薯，另外出产水果、茶叶和木材，办有果场、林场、苗圃场和碾米厂，并有小学和医疗站。[3]
