新昌社区是江门市蓬江区棠下镇南端的社区，与江门市区相邻，由原新昌村于2017年“村改居”而成，面积3.4平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期到1951年，分属新会县第三区的杨汉乡和篁新乡；1961年归棠下公社，称新昌大队；1984年为新昌乡，1988年为新昌管理区，1999年为新昌村委会；2002年随棠下镇划归蓬江区；2017年改为社区居民委员会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

博雅地名网转载的村情介绍称，全村总人口1604人，分8个村民小组。[1]

经济[edit]

1998年成立新昌村股份联合社，财务实行一级核算。[1]2001至2002年，村里拍卖商住用地326亩，收入4425万元，另申办陆老围、元山仔两处工业区，共183亩。[1]
