和社是汕头市濠江区马滘街道下辖的社区居委会，原为马滘村西北的一部分。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，和社原是马滘村的第一社，居住着李、邱、陈等多个姓氏的人家，从事农业、渔业和小商贩，彼此相处融洽，村名取“和”意。[1]

经济[edit]

社区共245户、1384人，早先是务农为主的生产大队，改革开放后居民多外出务工、经商或从事建筑业。现存农用地190亩（含基本农田保护区80亩）；居委会自建一幢厂房，面积5000多平方米，租给南鸿塑料厂、阳光纸品工艺厂，租金是集体的主要收入。[1]2024年1月，社区入选「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
