西南村在汕头市龙湖区新海街道，在原新溪镇的西南端，坐落于新津河口东岸的三角形地块上，面朝南海，隔河与汕头中心城区相对，辖下九合、下十合和坝尾三个自然村[1][2]。2017年11月，该村获第五届全国文明村镇称号[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

中华人民共和国成立初期，澄海县上蓬区因这里处在新溪地域的西南，设立西南乡，“西南”之名沿用至今[1]。此地宋代归揭阳县的蓬洲都，1563年澄海建县，蓬洲都随之转入澄海县，民国时仍在澄海县上蓬区。1958年建人民公社，村里成立生产大队，次年一度随外砂公社划入汕头市郊区，1961年6月重新回到澄海县，隶属新溪公社[1]。

经济[edit]

村内人口7432人、1546户，耕地1724亩，其中水田857亩[2]。村里用1000多万元修建13条、共13公里的水泥村道，又盘活闲置集体土地，建起近两万平方米厂房，引入化妆品、电器科技企业和大型超市；全村有工业企业64家，其中规模以上1家，工业从业者一千四百多人[2]。渔船69只，年捕捞928吨，水产养殖面积合计约410亩，水产品年产1240吨，另有“三鸟”及鹌鹑养殖户55户[2]。金鸿公路沿线的商贸、海鲜餐饮和运输业也发展起来[2]。2009年全村工农业总产值1.48亿元，工业占1.355亿元，农业占2836万元；村集体收入184.1万元[2]。

荣誉[edit]

  • 村里获得过「全国创建文明村镇先进单位」，以及省级民主法治示范村、省级和市级文明村的称号[2]。
  • 2017年11月，中央文明委授予第五届全国文明村镇称号[1]。
  • 2020年至2022年，连续列入阿里研究院等发布的淘宝村名单[1]。
