荷塘社区在珠海市香洲区横琴镇，是岛上4个社区之一。2011年的报道提到的四堂村，属于它的辖区。[1]

2011年中国新闻网的走访报道里，吴韶光的身份是横琴岛荷塘社区四堂村村长；他1987年高中毕业后回乡，进横琴镇农业站工作，并常把鱼和水果运去澳门出售。[1]2012年的《南方日报》报道中，当时的荷塘社区书记梁玉荣兼任横琴新区蚝业协会会长，岛上的养蚝人此前由高峰时的100多户减到20多户。[2]

2021年2月，澳门街坊总会横琴综合服务中心的荷塘社区部和荷塘社区党群服务中心新址揭牌启用。[3]
