翠湖社区是深圳市光明区光明街道下辖的社区，位于街道中心区，辖区面积1.01平方公里，是光明街道6个社区中面积最小的。[1] 社区因境内的翠湖公园得名，2003年6月由光明社区、东周居委会和碧眼居委会各划出一部分组成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网记，翠湖社区是光明办事处所在地，2003年6月设立宝安区光明街道翠湖社区居委会，沿用至今。[1] 社区东到教育路、凤新公路，西到塘明公路，北与楼村交界。[2] 辖区共6个居住点，包括清怡小区、东区、湖畔北区（原糖厂）、荔园小区、富力区和滨河苑，驻有企事业单位80家。[2]

1972年，省轻工业厅在光明农场内开办光明糖厂，1992年关闭；糖厂旧址在翠湖社区，被列入光明区不可移动文物，保护级别未定。[4][3]

人口民族[edit]

社区材料（未注明年份）称，辖区约2.2万人，其中户籍4485人（1559户），暂住17534人。[2]

文化[edit]

社区建有文化广场和老年人活动广场，还有排球场、门球场和一支社区民乐队。[2] 2019年9月，翠湖社区被列入广东省2018年度民主法治示范村（社区）的创建单位；2022年8月，被认定为第二批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[1]
