历史沿革[edit]
名称的由来是社区靠近原来公明的周家村，位置在它的东边。[1] 东周居委会1994年4月成立，到1999年政企分开后改归光明街道管。[1] 2003年推进农村城市化，三家大牛场搬走，社区的大部分土地划入高新技术产业园区；2004年城市化改制，称东周社区居委会，沿用至今；社区工作站2008年4月成立。[1]
东周社区也在2022年3月入选首批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[1]
