龙岗墟社区在龙岗大道与深汕公路交会处，面积0.82平方千米，过去是龙岗区、镇、乡政府的驻地，据龙岗街道办事处介绍，是龙岗历史最久的社区。[1] 社区登记居民1850户4082人，实际居住约1.2万人；这里没有股份公司和村民，居民都是城镇户口。[1]

龙岗老街[edit]

龙岗老墟被称为龙岗的「东门老街」，街上有标志性的老榕树。[1] 官方介绍说，1980年代龙岗镇老街集农贸、百货和休闲娱乐于一体，周边百里的居民都来这里买东西。[1] 如今社区有3条商业街：以服装为主的华特步行街，以传统小吃为主的华西街，以鞋料批发为主的东湖街；此外有两处小公园，一处围着百年榕树，一处以牵牛花为主题。[1]

辖区构成[edit]

辖区包括龙岗老街、龙岗中心医院、华特工业区和6个住宅小区，名为东一村、东二村、东三村、西一村、龙苑新村和龙侨新村。[1][2]
