木棉湾社区是深圳市龙岗区布吉街道的「村改社」社区，在街道东面，辖区总面积约0.55平方千米；木棉湾村是社区内唯一的自然村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区因种有许多木棉树而得名，此地原属宝安（新安）县，1931年7月设布吉乡木棉湾村。深圳市住房和建设局在2022年3月公布首批绿色（宜居）社区名单，木棉湾社区在列。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

木棉湾原是布吉社区居委会辖下的一个村民小组，2006年6月布吉社区居委会一分为四，木棉湾成了其中一个社区。木棉湾村是布吉街道最早组建股份合作公司的自然村之一，原村民325人。[2] 社区党委于2012年8月组建。[1]

社区概况[edit]

社区东到湖西路，南到育苗路，西到木棉路，北到龙岗大道。街道网站2024年4月载，总人口24129人，户籍的只有684人。[1] 2016年10月，社区以92分的成绩通过深圳市学习型社区督导评估。[1]
