翻身社区归深圳市宝安区新安街道管辖，又称翻身村，位于街道西部，管辖宝城47区、49区，面积约0.8平方千米，2004年撤村改居。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

20世纪二三十年代起，来自中山、南海、东莞、番禺、顺德、惠州等地的水上渔民陆续在珠江口东岸滩涂上搭屋定居、围基垦田，聚落渐成；这一带原有刘家围、温家围、锦廷围等小地名。[1] 1951年土改工作组进驻时，当地没有固定村名，经征求村民意见定名「翻身」。[1] 2004年深圳全面推行城市化后撤村改居。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

社区总人口41370人，其中户籍4185人，原籍村民1852人。[2] 下设8个居民小组。[1][2]

翻身村是新安街道原有的四个城中村之一。[2] 社区内有1所初中和1所小学；工作站成立于2007年5月。[2]
