阳光社区2004年11月成立，在深圳市南山区西丽街道，处白芒检查站之外，东以苏联坑、西以米坑石场、南以白芒检查站、北以应人石沙坑为界，面积2.46平方千米。[1] 社区由13个大小工业区组成，没有商业住宅楼。[1] 名称来自成立初期辖区中心、人口密集的阳光工业区。[1]

社区材料称居民共21573人，户籍仅479人，流动者21094人；出租屋共10490套，另有212家工厂（该页未注明年份）。[1] 博雅地名网称，它是原特区范围里唯一在关外的社区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，阳光社区进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2022年8月，它又入选第二批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[1]
