历史沿革[edit]
社区的前身是1998年7月成立的华富街道中银居委会，2001年改称福中社区居委会。2002年6月划分莲花街道时，它随之改属莲花街道；2003年，原居委会再分为福中和福新两个社区。[2] 名称取自所处的福田中心区。[2]
辖区[edit]
辖区东起彩田路，西到益田路，南临深南路，北至红荔路。[1] 社区简介给出的面积约1.1平方公里，博雅地名网则写作约0.36平方公里，两处不一致。[1][2] 官网简介称，社区驻有企事业单位2000多家，常住的约1.1万人，有户籍的约1.5万人。住宅小区有4个，即雅颂居、天健世纪花园、深业花园和中银花园；另有17栋商务楼宇，如中广核大厦、诺德中心、地铁大厦等。[1]
辖区内有天健小学及其附属幼儿园、黄埔小学附属幼儿园。市级文化场馆共六处，包括博物馆、图书馆、音乐厅、少年宫、中心书城，以及当代艺术与城市规划馆，都设在社区内。[1] 官网把这里的特点概括为「四多三高」，其中「四多」指党政机关、文化场馆、总部企业和高端人才多。[1]
