名称与历史沿革[edit]
梅富社区居委会1992年8月成立时属梅林街道，称梅富居委会；2002年9月改为莲花街道梅富社区居委会。[2] 名称的含义是「梅林人民富裕的生活」。[2] 社区党委成立于1992年。[1]
梅富村原名岭背村，因在狮岭以北而得名；村民是客家人，使用客家话。该村传统上种稻米和红薯，20世纪80年代起发展工业，如今收入主要来自房地产开发和出租物业。2015年末，村里有户籍人口450人，外来人口则有2102人。[3]

社区面积约0.76平方公里，辖区由梅富村、布尾村、新狮村3个城中村和必好花园1个老旧小区组成，三个村由下梅林股份公司管辖。[1] 据官网简介，辖区共358栋楼，住着12600户，总人口约3.2万，流动人口占九成以上。[1] 社区党委下设9个党支部，管理党员121名。[1] 社区获得过的荣誉有广东省健康促进示范社区，以及福田区先进基层党组织。[1]
