历史沿革[edit]
天中的建制始于1951年成立的天中乡；1956年12月，天中乡与缠良乡合并为光中乡，1958年1月光中乡撤销，辖地划入沙田乡。[1] 1959年起为天中大队；1983年至1998年间，先后称乡人民政府、村民委员会和管理区，1998年12月定为天中村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
首批省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单于2020年8月公布，天中村凭百香果上榜。[1] 据沙田镇政府的招商介绍，华瑞百香果基地2017年初创办，面积后来达到1500多亩，并带动天中、缠良、叶屋等村的村民种植；天中村还发动群众种植霸王花500多亩，并成立了专业合作社，种植又扩展到金青、羊石等村；砂糖桔则集中在龙潭、天中、新岭、乌石等村。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，天中村列入2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2020年12月，又列入2020年度的创建单位名单；2021年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
