历史沿革[edit]

据地名资料，旧时村里盛产油菜，食用油充足，因而得名。[1]建制方面，油洞乡设于1950年；1958年改生产大队，1984年又恢复为乡；此后依次为村委会（1986年）、管理区（1989年）；1998年再改回村委会，至今未变。[1]

2019年9月，油洞村列入2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
