南亭村在广州市番禺区小谷围街道，属小谷围岛上的4个行政村之一，村委会设在南亭大道1号，离街道办事处约2公里。村名据传来自南汉时岛上的哨亭。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载地名志，南汉刘䶮（917—941年在位）常到岛上狩猎，设昌华宫歇息，又建皇家园林昌华苑，兼作陵区。为管理和守卫苑囿，朝廷设官苑使，并在北、南两处各建一座亭子作哨所，北边的叫北亭，南边的叫南亭，后来人们在南亭一带聚居成村，即以此为名。[1]

南亭村民委员会设于1987年，当时隶属新造镇；小谷围街道2004年成立后，村改归街道管辖。[1]

地理与经济[edit]

村域面积约2.16平方公里，紧邻大学城内的广东工业大学等校区。大学城建设前，村民以农业为生；建设中部分村民留在原地，受拆迁影响的则迁往谷围新村。[1]

村集体的收入主要来自土地发包，以及旧村闲置用地、村属商铺和渡船的出租。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年10月，该村列入广东省卫生村名单；2024年11月，又获认定为当年的广州市充分就业村。[1]

岛上的南亭一带，区政府统计有4处受保护的建筑遗产点。[2]
