历史沿革[edit]
村原是陇枕沙的一部分，称陇三。最初的聚落在形似草鞋的沙洲「草鞋洲」上，洲中主河称草鞋河，旧时习称草河涌，村名由此而来。清末，水上居民在此租佃土地，沿河涌基围搭屋居住；1987年成立草河村民委员会，隶沙湾镇，1993年起归沙湾街道，后划归桥南街道[1][2]。
人口与经济[edit]
村民姓氏有99个，主要有梁、黄、陈、冯、何，少有宗族关系。2022年末，村中有户籍居民3884人、外来人员5015人[2]。传统种甘蔗、水稻，抗战时期开过3间牛力土榨糖寮；今有农田3000多亩，种花卉、蔬菜、香蕉，养四大家鱼，村办工业区约330亩，企业近百家[2]。
建设与文化[edit]
2010年10月，草河大刀沙观龙岛路桥工程的德怡大桥通车，连接草河村、石碁镇大刀沙和石楼镇观龙岛[2]。村于2013年被纳入广州美丽乡村建设规划，后被评为广州市美丽乡村；2022年1月被省乡村振兴局确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位，2026年1月又入选广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村[1][2]。2020年起，街道在村里开展「共同缔造」，把草河二街一座1950年代风貌的粮仓改为草河村粮仓文化馆，设农耕、水乡、粮仓3个展厅，陈列村民捐赠的农具[2]。村里也有举办敬老宴的传统[2]。
