穗东街道在广州市黄埔区中部，下设南石市、庙头、南湾、夏园4个社区。“穗”是广州的简称，街道位于广州东部，故名。[2]它于2002年8月从南岗镇划出建街，[1]2020年人口普查记录的常住人口为65752人。[1]境内的南海神庙是全国重点文物保护单位，也是“波罗诞”庙会的举办地。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

庙头一带的历史早于街道：据广州市民政局的地名专题，庙头村相传西晋泰始元年（265年）已有村落，旧名古斗，又作古兜；隋开皇十四年（594年）朝廷下诏在此建南海神庙，村名才改作“庙头”。[10]

穗东一带原是南岗镇的一部分。黄埔区在2002年撤镇设街，街道于8月1日挂牌，设夏园、南基、庙头、南石市四个社区居委会，前三者由村转制而来。[2]2007年5月，南基社区改称南湾社区。[6]南石市的名称相传由清代的石门市与南安市合并而来，辖内的南安正街被称作文物风情街。[4]

街道夹在大沙、南岗两个城区组团与广州经济技术开发区之间，毗邻南岗、红山、夏港、荔联等街道。[2]面积的说法不一：百度百科作12.12平方千米，博雅地名网作13.58平方千米。[1][2]庙头社区的南面是珠江，对岸为番禺。[5]

广州地铁5号线的庙头站、夏园站和13号线的南海神庙站、夏园站设在辖区内。[8]

第七次人口普查以2020年11月1日零时为时点，登记常住人口65752人。[1]维基百科另有45025人的数字，没有注明年份，这里不取。[8]

百度百科引用2011年的数据：第三产业收入约2.83亿元，农业收入1685万元，渔业529万元，畜牧业303万元。[1]

文化[edit]

“波罗诞”是祭祀南海神的民间信俗，庙会在每年农历二月十一至十三日于南海神庙举行，该信俗于2011年成为国家级非遗项目；与庙会相伴的还有波罗粽、波罗鸡等食品和工艺品，黄埔这场庙会，2005年起和广州民俗文化节合并举行。[9][10][12]2018年5月，广东省公布新一批“广东省民间文化艺术之乡”（任期为2018至2020年度），穗东街道凭此项目入选。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

南海神庙又称波罗庙，在庙头社区旭日街，创建于公元594年（隋开皇十四年）。历代朝廷派官员到此祭海，庙内曾有唐至清的碑记七十余块，被称作“南方碑林”。[12]神庙在1983年交由广州市文物部门管理，1986年动工修复、1991年完工：大殿、后殿、礼亭、碑亭是重新建起的，二十多块古碑也重新立起。[12]2012年，神庙连同古码头遗址被纳入世界文化遗产预备名单，2013年又成为第七批全国重点文物保护单位；神庙前的“海不扬波”石牌坊为清代所建。[10][11][12]

庙西南的章丘岗上有浴日亭，始建于唐代，“扶胥浴日”在宋、元、清三代均列羊城八景。[10]

各社区另有若干祠堂和石刻：夏园的南园徐公祠、松石徐公祠，南湾的南湾麦氏宗祠、明代的常春岩摩崖石刻，庙头的黄埔岑氏宗祠、庙头村张氏大宗祠，详见各社区条目。[2][5][6][7]
