大冈社区是广州市白云区白云湖街道辖下的社区，由原大冈村改设，属城乡结合区。[1]村子建在一座大山岗脚下，地名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年以前，这里叫「大岡脚」，后来简称大岡。[1]1984年4月起国务院开始颁发第一代居民身份证，当时的身份证录入不了「岡」字，于是写作大岗，1990年后改称大冈。[1]

民国二十年（1931年）起，大冈隶属番禺县第六区石井乡；新中国成立后先后归大环乡（1953年起属第八区，1955年起属加禾区）。[1]1958年划入广州市郊区，当年8月公社化，所在的是石井公社大环大队。[1]大环大队在1973年拆成三个，其中便有大岗大队；公社于1984年撤销，改设乡政府，三年后改为村民委员会，仍在石井镇辖下，1990年定名大冈村。[1]

此外，社区在2024年11月入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]
