象牙北社区属广州市越秀区，由光塔街道管辖，城乡分类为主城区。[1]明代这里曾有象牙街，社区以此为名；象牙街得名于宋、元、明三代此处曾是象牙、玉器的加工作坊和集市所在。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带的居委会建于1953年，原称解放街居委会，1960年一度编入一德人民公社。解放南街1998年划入大新街，居委会2002年易名象牙北居委会，2013年又随该片区转入光塔街道。[1]

荣誉[edit]

获评「2024年广州市充分就业社区」（2024年11月）。[1]
