东塱社区位于广州市荔湾区芳村东南部，东濒珠江，是东沙街道所辖的社区；原为东塱村，村史可上溯到南宋。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据百度百科，村子因处在历史上「崇文二十四乡」的东部而名东塱，「塱」是广府地区指水边平坦洼地的地名用字。[1]西塱、东塱、鹤洞和广钢旧厂区合称「三村一厂」。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

社区南接南漖、沙洛两地，西面是西塱，北面是广钢居住区。[1]百度百科记社区人口6636人。[1]

改造与荣誉[edit]

东塱村被列为荔湾区重点整体改造项目，旧村更新改造范围约59.02万平方米；片区内建有名为「东沙汇」的商业、酒店、办公综合体。[1]社区在2022年11月获认定为「广州市2022年绿色社区」，2024年11月列入「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单。[1][2]
