地名由来[edit]
村子位于溪流的尾部，原称「溪尾」，后来雅化为「溪美」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
土改时此地为溪美乡；1958年划为店下公社的溪美大队，村民委员会则在1987年10月设立。[1][2]
古榕群[edit]
溪美村下南里自然村一带有11棵百年古榕树，树龄最大的500多年，最小的也有300多年，树高20至30米，直径15至20米，枝干盘结成林。据村中传说，七仙女下凡时为村子命名，并种下7棵榕树作纪念，此后历经数百年繁衍，形成如今的规模。村中已修建栈道与观景台。[3]
人口与荣誉[edit]
据2025年11月发布的店下镇政府网站介绍，全村共有1127户4168人。[3]
村子曾被评为福建省先进基层党组织，也获「福建省文明村」称号。2021年2月，溪美村上榜「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。2022年10月，经福建省农业农村厅认定，溪美村列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2023年12月，村子获「2023年度福建省森林村庄」称号。2026年1月，溪美村确定为「福建省2026年度乡村振兴示范村」。[1][2]
